A New Beginning
Genesis 2:14, the Album represents more than a collection of songs; it marks a new beginning in the life, music, and ministry of Jamon Jones.
For Jamon, Genesis symbolizes the beginning, the alpha, and the opening of a new chapter. The number 2:14 is deeply personal because February 14th is his birthday. The date also honors a cherished memory involving his beloved grandmother, whom he met on 2:14. Her life, love, and transition became an important part of the testimony behind this project.
Before the full album is released, Jamon will introduce listeners to his story through the debut single, “I Won’t Deny My God.”

Who You Are, What You Do, and Where You Are Going
MERGE: To begin, tell us who Jamon Jones is. Share a little about your background, family, and personal journey.
Jamon: First and foremost, Jamon is a child of God. I am a husband, a son, and a father. I come from a strong Christian family background and received a private Christian-school education. My journey has been filled with both highs and lows as my music has allowed me to travel locally and nationally.
Through it all, God stepped in and allowed my gift to make room for me.
MERGE: What is your calling in ministry, and how are you currently serving God?
Jamon: I believe my calling in ministry is simply to inspire people, instill hope and faith, and help save one soul at a time.
I am currently serving God by giving Him all of me. Serving Him is my driving purpose.
MERGE: Tell us about your professional life and your role as a business owner and senior producer.
Jamon: My professional life as a businessman and producer is all connected. I merge the roles together effortlessly.
When you love what you are doing, regardless of the role, there is joy and peace within it. Navigating everything can sometimes become overwhelming, and that is when my lovely wife, who is also my business partner, steps in.
MERGE: What vision has God given you for your ministry, music, business, and future?
Jamon: God has given me a vision that I never thought would be possible: recording an album of my own.
During preproduction, I was pushing and pulling against the idea. Then the automatic door opened, and everything began to align.
The same is true for my business and ministry. As far as the future is concerned, only God knows. However, my plan is to minister through my voice and music while helping save one life at a time.
Behind the Walls: His Testimony
MERGE: What is your salvation story?
Jamon: It may sound simple to some, but it was extremely difficult for me.
I had to give up my addiction to gain Christ. Now I can say, “Jesus, I have found You. Hallelujah!”
MERGE: What is the truth behind the walls you built around yourself?
Jamon: Honestly, I do not believe that I walk around with walls up. However, the truth behind any walls I may have is that I am not perfect; and no one is perfect. I strive every day to become a better version of myself. And if I do have a few walls, it may just be the Aquarius in me.
MERGE: What experiences or losses broke your heart and changed the direction of your life?
Jamon: Wow. Where do I begin, and how do I make this brief?
Losing my sister and my grandmother brought two of the greatest challenges I have ever faced.
Before my grandmother transitioned, I asked my wife, “Sherri, what am I going to do without my grandmother? She is the only human being on this earth who loves me unconditionally.”
I could tell that my wife was at a loss for words. But as a God-fearing woman, she simply told me, “Continue to run toward God and not away from Him.”
My addiction had taken me to a place where I was losing homes, cars, equipment, respect, and dignity. You name it, I lost it. I had to get out of my own way. That is when I found deliverance.
When God truly delivers you, there is no reason to return to the place from which He rescued you.
MERGE: Why did you wait until this season of your life to fully turn toward God?
Jamon: First of all, I was not raised to run away from God. I was raised to run toward Him from the beginning, and to continue running toward Him.
Eventually, the morals that had been instilled in me began to rise again. By God’s grace, I was able to navigate my way back to my roots.
MERGE: How has your relationship with God transformed the man you are today?
Jamon: Today and forever, I am no longer double-minded. I have zero tolerance for temptation, and I am committed to a marathon walk with Jesus. You are witnessing a fully transparent and transformed man of God.
Behind the Music
MERGE: Who are your greatest musical, creative, and spiritual influences across all genres, particularly in contemporary Christian, inspirational, and gospel music?
Jamon: By the grace of God, I have been given a gift and understanding of music theory, so I could go on and on about this subject. But I will keep it brief.
First and foremost, my father, James Jones, is one of my greatest influences. Others include Quincy Jones, Whitney Houston, Kenneth “Babyface” Edmonds, James Cameron, Tasha Cobbs Leonard, and Joel Osteen.
My influences extend beyond musicians. I am inspired by producers, artists, creators, ministers, and visionaries.
MERGE: As a senior producer who has spent years helping develop the music of others, what made you decide it was time to record your own album?
Jamon: My grandmother’s passing had everything to do with my decision.Her transition motivated me to push my music and ministry into a place where I could reach more people. I want to inspire those who already know me and those who will soon come to know me.
Saving one soul at a time is what I believe to be my purpose and spiritual reason for creating this solo project.
MERGE: Tell us about the meaning behind the title, Genesis 2:14.
Jamon: Genesis represents a beginning, the alpha, and the start of something new. February 14 is also my birthday, so 2:14 has always been personal to me. The date is also connected to a treasured memory of my grandmother, whom I met on 2:14. Because of that connection, the title is very dear to my heart.
This album represents a new beginning in my relationship with God, my ministry, my music, and my life.
MERGE: Tell us about the inspiration behind your new album.
Jamon: Believe it or not, I was preparing to return to school this upcoming fall to become a doctor, regardless of my age.I love the feeling of having a solution to a problem, fixing things, helping people, and putting smiles on their faces.
Then my wife said to me, “Baby, you can save many lives and make a difference in this world through your music and ministry.”
That was the automatic door God opened through her. He placed it in her spirit to remind me that there is more than one way to save a life.
MERGE: Why did you choose to create an inspirational album, and what does “inspirational” mean to you?
Jamon: I chose inspirational music because God is my inspiration.I love the way He shows mercy and extends grace, and I want to become more like Him.
Inspiration, to me, means telling my story. It does not get any better than the deliverance God gave me. Listeners will hear that deliverance throughout the songs on the Genesis 2:14 album.
MERGE: Are all the songs on the album original?
Jamon: Yes. All the songs are original, with light artificial-intelligence assistance used during portions of the production process.
MERGE: What personal experiences, testimonies, or spiritual lessons inspired the songs?
Jamon: I am glad you asked.
Every song comes from a true-life experience, spiritual lesson, or testimony. The album follows my spiritual formation; from a boy, to a man, to the godly man I am becoming today.
My journey inspired all 14 songs.
MERGE: Which songs are your personal favorites, and why do they hold special meaning for you?
Jamon: I would have to say “I Won’t Deny My God” and “Myself.”
Those two songs minister to me as well. Although the entire album is my testimony and includes some of my favorite songs of all time, those songs came from a higher strength. I am only the messenger.
They hold a special place in my heart because they offer such a positive pathway back home to Jesus. In my heart, they will always be classics.
The First Release
Before listeners experience the complete Genesis 2:14 album, Jamon Jones will release his debut single:
“I WON’T DENY MY GOD”
The single introduces the central message of the project: a man who once wrestled with addiction, loss, temptation, and brokenness has made a decision to stand openly and unashamedly for God.
The testimony is real. The music is coming. Wait for it!
Merging Music, Ministry, and Marketplace
MERGE: Through your business, you are merging music with ministry in the marketplace. What does that integration look like in your everyday life?
Jamon: As long as we at Motes Jones & Company continue to put God first, the merge becomes a lifestyle. As the Co-Founder and Senior Producer, I get to do what I love every day. That is my everyday life because I have chosen to live a wholesome life in Christ.
For me, music, ministry, and marketplace are not separate but simultaneous. They are all part of the same purpose.
MERGE: What principles or practical tips have helped you successfully merge ministry with your professional work?
Jamon: Honestly, my wife is my backbone in every aspect of my professional work. Whatever success is behind what we do is greatly influenced by her wisdom, creativity, and strategic mind. Those are only a few of her many gifts. In this business, it is important to have a partner who genuinely has your best interests at heart.

MERGE: How do you remain true to your faith and calling while navigating the music industry and the responsibilities of business ownership?
Jamon: That is easy. I do not ride the fence with God. I have made personal sacrifices, but I have also gained a deeper understanding of my worth in God.
Working as a team with complete transparency is one of the keys to navigating a successful business.
As I mentioned earlier, I have a strong power-of-three team.
The Purpose and the Message
MERGE: What is your greatest desire for this album, and what do you hope listeners will receive from it?
Jamon: My greatest desire is for someone to hear my story and find peace.
I want listeners to find God’s grace, hope, motivation, and, last but certainly not least, God Himself; if they have not already found Him. That is what I want every listener to receive.
MERGE: What would you say to someone who feels trapped behind emotional walls, disconnected from God, or afraid that it is too late to begin again?
Jamon: A journey of one thousand miles begins with one step forward. It is never too late to repent, turn to God, and begin again. You have to truly desire the change. You have to want to want it.
The choice is yours, so why not start today? Why not start right now?
MERGE: If you had only one final statement to share with the world, what would it be?
Jamon: This truly comes from my heart. It is short and simple:
